Registration FAQs

When does registration open?
Spring registration usually opens in January and closes in early March. Fall baseball registration opens in mid-July and runs through late-August.

Do you offer scholarships?
We offer full and partial scholarships to assist with registration fees. To request a scholarship submit the scholarship form available on our website.

How do I know which division or level to sign up for?
Your player's league age is determined by the Little League age chart and will determine the division in which you'll register them. To check your player’s age see the Little League International age calculator at

When do practices start?
Practices usually start in late-March depending on field and weather conditions.

When do games start? When is the season over?
Spring games typically start in April and run through early June. T-Ball and Rookie divisions ends their seasons with a “Marathon Day” in early June. For Farm level and above, playoffs will run for about the first 2 weeks in June. The fall baseball season starts in September the first weekend after Labor Day and ends the last weekend in October. Check our league calendar on the website for exacts dates for this season.

What days are games played? What time are games played during the week and on weekends?
During the spring games are played Monday – Thursday evenings and on Saturday. Weeknight games are typically played at 6:00 PM. Games are played continuously throughout the day on Saturdays.

How many games and practices are there per week?
In general, there are 2 games per week with one weeknight and one Saturday game. Teams may practice 1-2 times per week depending on the age group and the time of year. Teams will practice more during the pre-season before games begin and then reduce or end practices once games start. Occasionally, weather cancellations or other interruptions in the schedule may require additional games during the week.

Where are the fields located?
TTLL oversees 9 fields at two complexes. The Williams Road complex is located at the Williams Road Recreation Area, Troy, NY 12180 (directions). The Poestenkill complex is located at 1 Veterans Street Poestenkill, NY 12140 (directions).

Is there food allowed at the field?
Of course! We do strive to be peanut free due to potential allergies, but you are welcome to bring your own food/snacks/non-alcoholic beverages. We do also have a concession stand located at each of our complexes which offer great food, snacks, and drinks. These are made possible only through the assistance of our parents helping to run them (all parents of registered players are assigned a shift or two each season to work the concession stand).

What does the registration fee include?
Registration fees help support TTLL’s operating costs. As TTLL is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization, we are responsible for all costs associated with running the league including field maintenance and repairs, utilities (electricity and water), complex cleaning and upkeep, insurance, Little League charter fees, and umpire fees. All registered players are provided with a uniform jersey and baseball hat.

What equipment will my player need?
All registered players are provided with a uniform jersey and hat. Players will need a helmet (Tball-Farm players must have a face cage while Minors-Majors must have either a face cage or chin flap); a glove; grey baseball pants; and a baseball bat that meets LL requirements (see for more information on LL bat rules). TTLL has limited helmets and bats available for teams to use.

How do I know if my player is eligible to paly with TTLL? What are the league’s boundaries?
TTLL follows Little League's approved district boundaries. To check if your player is eligible to play for TTLL see the League Finder feature at the Little League International website here:
